It would appear that the KOS have lost all sightings post from February up to present day and, they are nowhere to be found within the KOS website.
Sightings will now be posted here and will be up and running properly from January 1st.

December 27th


This mornings visit to Stodmarsh with the vocal Tawny Owl calling from the Alder Wood direction and walking the Lampen Wall in the dark the sound of Teal, Wigeon, Fieldfare and Snipe were all added to the list before dawn. As the light started seeping through 2 Woodcock passed by off to roost and 27 Great Black-backed Gulls were counted on the lake. A single Cetti's Warbler was heard and 2 Water Rails also heard plus one on the path a while later. The first Harrier out was a Marsh Harrier at 07:29 followed by a further 17 and the first Hen Harrier out was at 07:33, 2 ringtails and the male at 07:44. The 1100 strong Cormorant faction all left for the sea in large formations while on the perfectly still lake were 9 Great-crested Grebes, 1 Little Grebe, 4 Pochards, 2 Tufted Ducks, 27 Shoveler, 8 Gadwall, 386 Teal and 214 Mallards. Also noted were 7 Bearded Tits, 1 Jay, 1 Grey Heron, 1 Little Egret, 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Great-spotted Woodpecker and 37 Goldfinches. The female Cinnamon Teal remains in the Alder Wood moat.
