The Stour Valley list for 2019 stands at 98 species so far.
January 31st
The first month of the year ended two shy of the 100 but, is 2 more than 2018 that ended with 96 species but included the likes of Skylark, Barnacle Goose, Little Owl, 2 species of Redpoll and Hawfinch that have not been recorded this year and, 4 more than 2017 that ended on 96 including Little Owl, (again) Ruddy Duck, Curlew and Golden Plover, also not noted this year. Hopefully several more will be added in February and the coming months. The last two additions to this month were a Spotted Redshank on Saturday 26th and a Green Sandpiper seen by Chiddy on the 28th.
