January 27th
Stodmarsh, a cold morning with some blue sky and the main lake is still frozen over apart from a small area near the raft, mostly Mallard and Teal with 4 Tufted duck on the lake. A walk up to the water meadow added a pair of Bullfinch, 2 male Sparrowhawks, 1 Kestrel, 1 Marsh harrier, 1 Peregrine and a Stoat.

January 26th
Grove ferry, work commences on the new island being built at David Feast's hide to replace the old tern raft that had seen better days. Birds seen this morning were 3 Corn bunting, 1 Marsh harrier,1 Kestrel, 1 male Sparrowhawk and 5 Bearded tit.
