Did the circuit this morning starting from Stodmarsh and a Bittern flew from the marsh hide area across to the far side of the lake. There were 4 Common tern on the rafts. 20 + Swift's but only 1 Swallow. Lot's of Reed, Sedge and Cetti's warblers calling. 2 Cuckoo seen, 4 common Buzzard, 3 Marsh harrier and 1 Stock dove. 15th May there were 14 Hobby's high over the new tower hide ( which opens tomorrow Friday 17th ) another birder had 20 later in the day .the pair of Marsh harrier's nesting near reed bed hide made a food pass. 13th May did the circuit from Stodmarsh end and 2 Turtle doves flew across the carpark. there were 30+ Swift's and 13 Hobby's over the reeds by the fishing lake. There were 6 Common tern's on the rafts. Also seen were 2 Cuckoo's, 1 Orange tip, 3 Marsh harrier, 3 common Buzzard's, 1 Goldfinch, lot's of calling Sedge, Reed and Cetti's warblers and 1 Wood sandpiper and 1 Little egret at marsh hide.
