March 20th
At last the feckin wind has stopped and it's nice to be able to roam the reserve without being blown over !, Chiffchaff's have been calling every day this week, Lapwing's are displaying and one was nest building at the marsh hide on monday 18th. I had a Woodcock and a Stoat near the Alder wood on Sunday 17th. 2 common Buzzard's were calling high up over marsh hide this morning and Ben told me 2 Bittern's were heard booming yesterday morning near the coal tip and collard's.
