The Stour Valley list for 2018 stands at 160(+1) species so far.

October 18th


Some sighting's from the last 3 day's starting today,18th October at Grove Ferry. The Grey lag numbers at the ramp are consistent with approx 300 seen on the 16th/17th and 18th. there were 54 Black headed gull, 120+ Lapwing, 1 Grey heron and small number's of Teal and Mallard. A flock of 80 Fieldfare flew over David Feast hide where there was 21 Gadwall. Also seen were 1 Green woodpecker, 2 Ring neck parakeet, 3 Collard dove. 1 Skylark, 1 Common buzzard, 3  Chaffinch, 1 Kestrel and 1 Marsh harrier.  17th Stodmarsh, Approx 200 Shoveller, 12 Great crested grebe, 1 Common buzzard and 1 Sparrow hawk. Still plenty of Dragonfly about in this hot weather with 6 mating pairs seen..16th Grove Ferry, pretty much as the 18th except 4 Collared dove, 1 Kingfisher, 1 Green sandpiper, 3 Redwing and 3 Red admiral.
