This morning, 8am at Stodmarsh a Nightingale was singing at the carpark and was still singing when i got back at 10-30am, what a treat to hear this lovely bird. Sedge warbler numbers are building with 7 in one small patch near tower hide .I watched 2 seperate male Marsh Harriers making food passes, one was a small rodent that the female missed and it fell into the reeds, she flew off and i thought that was a meal wasted but she came back and flew back and forth before dropping down exactly where it landed, the other male dropped a small bird that was caught. Plenty of Blackcaps and chiffchaffs about and 1 female Bullfinch and 1 Fox. Yesterday 23rd there were 3 Common Tern and 1 Redshank at the ramp. At marsh hide were 1 Green sandpiper,1 Greenshank and some Grey lag goslings. Near the metal bridge were a small flock of 23 Linnet and another flock of 15 Goldfinch. also seen were 3 Swallow,1 Skylark, Reed bunting, Sedge warbler ,Lapwing and the nesting Shoveller
