March 28th

A foggy start to the morning at Stodmarsh but by 9.30 the sun was out and with no wind it was very warm, there were 130 ( approx ) Shovellers on the lake with a small number of Gadwall and Teal. Some Great crested grebes were displaying as were 2 Lapwing over the marsh hide area, i walked as far as the water meadow with only a few Chiffchaff's and Reed bunting's noted. On the way back i scanned the lake and saw a single Brent goose among the Shoveller's it did not stay long, taking off and heading south. There were 3 Marsh Harrier's soaring quite high with a Sparrow Hawk among them..
