There has been very little to write about
in the valley over the last couple of weekends, or in Kent for that matter. The
3 Great-white Egrets continue to entertain but with recent heavy rains every
pool is now brimming with no mud for waders to feed on so all we get now is a
few hundred Lapwings in the fields. Tawny Owl, Little Owl and 300Swallows are
the best of late and the Osprey continues to reside at ‘The Gaps’ behind
Hersden lake and the 2 ‘Polish Swan cygnets are still on Collard’s lake with their
3 siblings and both parents. Sandwich has had bugger all as well although
Bernie and I did have a Firecrest in the Elms on the 22nd Sept. Here
are a couple of pictures from recent visits.
