The Stour Valley list for 2018 stands at 94 species so far.

January 17th

Another sunny day at the reserve but the strong west wind still keeping the birds down. There were just 13 Teal and 8 Mallard at reedbed hide with most of the wildfowl close to the reeds on the lake. The Redshank i had yesterday at marsh hide was there again this morning. I could only find 4 Siskin in the alder wood along with 1 Goldfinch, 6 Chaffinch, 1 Wren and 1 Treecreeper. Most of the Cormorant's are in breeding plumage and they seem to get earlier every year.
