A few updates to the birding list have been made over the last week or so but otherwise it has been mostly a quiet month so far with not much to report than the usual birds seen on every visit. The best sight of the week last weekend was the when 15,000 plus Starlings left their reed bed roost in the early hours of both days making a very wonderful sound. The Marsh Harriers did try to make a meal out of some of them but failed to connect with any. Last Friday 3rd David Feast had a Brambling at the Alder Wood at Stodmarsh while on Sunday 5th Alex Perry had a redhead Smew at the David Feast hide. Yesterday 9th Mark Chidwick had a flyover Hawfinch at the Ramp bring this years total so far to 162.
